MailStore Gateway is a free, complementary tool for our email archiving solutions MailStore Server and MailStore Service Provider Edition.

It provides SMTP and POP3 proxy functionality as well as simple mailserver functionality to receive and store emails from Microsoft Office 365 Journaling, Google G Suite, or other email servers that deliver emails to external archiving solutions via SMTP. MailStore Server and MailStore Service Provider Edition are then able to archive the emails from MailStore Gateway mailboxes

The following provides a walk-though of the essential steps to get the MailStore Gateway up and running.

Installation	Irrespective of the projected scenario, it all begins with the installation of the software itself.
Firewall Configuration	To access MailStore Gateway from remote systems, appropriate firewall rules must be set up.

Using MailStore Gateway

Logging On	MailStore Gateway comes with a web-based console for administrators to do basic configuration tasks and creating mailboxes.
Creating Mailboxes	Mailboxes on MailStore Gateway contain the emails to be archived by MailStore Server or MailStore Service Provider Edition, and thus represent the core functionality of the product.
